Richmond Council is working to clean up the River Crane in Twickenham after a suspected pollution incident.
The water which flows through Crane Park has turned a mysterious "milky" colour.
Friends Of the River Crane Environment, a charity, said it has received multiple reports from concerned residents.
In a post on their Facebook page on the evening of Wednesday, August 5, they said: "We had hoped that the pollution, which started on Monday afternoon and lasted until Tuesday morning, was behind us.
"However, we have been getting reports on Twitter of further pollution in Crane Park (Mill Road and Kneller) this afternoon between 4pm and 6pm.
"It would be very helpful if you could post any further reports - whether or not you have or haven't seen any milky pollution in the river.
"Thames Water and the Environment Agency were both out on site earlier but have not reported finding anything as yet."
Richmond Council said: "We are aware of this incident and are working alongside other teams to get this cleaned up.
"So far we have had no reports of any fish mortality.
"The spill originated close to Crane Park Island."
