The money comes from the Heathrow Community Trust, which is an independent grant-making charity that is backed by Heathrow Airport and is partly funded by noise fines levied on airlines when they break regulations.

The cash will go towards helping local families and young people through the cost-of-living crisis. This includes free family workshops and summer school places, plus the provision of work experience placements for local young people.

The museum team said they were 'delighted' to learn of the grant and thanked the Trust for its support.

The Museum will be hosting the Trumpeters' House Garden Party on June 24, which features drink, cakes and a performance from the amazing Barnes Concert Band - https://museum-of-richmond.arttickets.org.uk/the-museum-of-richmond/2023-06-24-trumpeters-house-garden-party?t=1684932960964

A second scheme, The Wild Mind Project, has received a grant of £3,440 to fund its services, which includes supporting the emotional and mental wellbeing of young people who identify as LGBTQ+, aged 15-24, from the boroughs of Richmond and Hounslow.
