The Museum of Richmond will be closed this week.

The Old Town Hall, where the museum is situated will be closed from Monday 2 October to Saturday 7 October, whilst the new lift is installed.

The Reference Library and Local Studies will also be closed while these refurbishments take place.

When the Old Town Hall reopens on Monday 9 October, there will be no lift access to the first or second floors, so visitors will need to use the stairs.

In a statement, the museum said: "We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause whilst these essential works are carried out."
