McDonald's Richmond celebrated the chain's 50th birthday in the UK over the weekend (20 July) with a raffle, face painting and new menu for customers.
It has been half a century since McDonald's first arrived in Woolwich, London in 1974. Since then, McDonald's has opened over 200 stores in the capital.
McDonald's Richmond on The Quadrant told Nub News: "With the first UK McDonald's turning 50 this week.
"It's a time to look back and reflect on just how far this company has come.
"From 11 items on the menu to now over 145 items with the focus still on the customer service and satisfaction.
"To be able to celebrate this once in a lifetime opportunity in Richmond is amazing."
With its UK birthday officially on 17 July, the fast food chain released new menu items alongside familiar favourites to mark the occasion.
For dessert McDonald's has introduced Birthday Cake Donut, Milkybar Raspberry Ripple McFlurry and Munchies Cookie Dough McFlurry; Double Big Mac, Double Big with Bacon and McCrispy BBQ Smokehouse have made a return and a new savoury option is the Cheesy Garlic Bread Dippers.
McDonald's is also donating 20p from each Birthday Cake Donut sale to Ronald McDonald House Charities UK, which celebrates its 35th birthday this year.
