A man has pleaded guilty at Kingston Crown Court to a theft from Richmond Park Golf Club.

Mr Thomas O'Connell, 31, pleaded guilty on January 11.

A statement from Royal Parks Police said: "On June 6 2023 Mr O'Connell picked up an unattended bag of golf clubs, worth £900, from outside the club house, before running away".

O'Connell was also convicted of further offences including a burglary between 8 June and 11 June 2023 from a stall in the town center of KIngston, a burglary on 6 June 2023 from a shop in Kingston and a burglary on 3 March 2023 from a shop in Kingston.

The statement from Royal Parks Police said:"In total, he was given 27 months imprisonment which was reduced to 18 months due to his early guilty plea.

"He was given a Criminal Behavior Order to run for 5 years with conditions not to enter any Golf club in Richmond or Kingston, and not to enter any shopping centre or commercial premises unless having the means of payment."
