Police have cracked down on a man for begging.

The man was given a community protection notice when he was outside Richmond Station.

It means he must stop asking people for money or he'll be committing an offence if he continues doing so, leaving him open to being fined or further prosecution.

South Richmond Police wrote on Twitter: "Officers from @MPSSthRichmond have yesterday issued a male outside Richmond Br (British Rail) Station with a Community Protection Notice for Persistent Begging. This lasts six months. You're welcome @BTP."
