A man has been charged following a rape in Richmond

A man has been charged in relation to a rape in Richmond following an investigation by the South West Public Protection Unit.

Agnelo Cardoso, 33, from Hounslow was charged with one count of rape and remanded in custody yesterday.

The incident occurred in the car park on Paradise Road on Sunday.

Cardoso is due to appear before Wimbledon Magistrates' Court today.

The police statement said that the woman is currently being supported by specialist officers.
