One lucky winner scooped our biggest prize ever in the Richmond community Get Lucky Local lottery with a bumper £2000 cash win last Saturday (Draw 29).

Paul Shields from Hampton was over the moon as just two hours after his win his football team, Chelsea, won the Champions League in their match against Manchester City 1-0 to crown a perfect night.

"What a fantastic night," said Paul, who lives in Hampton.

"The only thing I have ever won before is a Black & Decker Workmate worth £30. We've got the Champagne out already."

Paul, who signed up to the lottery at the start and nominated the Get Lucky Local Community Fund as his Good Cause, added: "This just goes to show what a difference this lottery is making to the community.

"I am sure most people think they are never going to win but want to support the community but it also proves you can be a bigger winner as well."

Fifty six good causes are now signed up to Get Lucky Local and can raise £1300 a year by selling just 50 tickets a week and around 1000 players are buying tickets every week.

In the latest draw 19 players won three free tickets for this weekend's draw and one supporter of Hampton Hill Cricket Club won a £25 cash prize.
