Police respond to latest report of naked man in Ham Lands

By The Editor 23rd Sep 2020

Multiple reports have been made in recent months of a naked man in Ham Lands.

He has been described as man in his 60s with long, white hair and often riding a bicycle.

The most recent sighting was made by a dad who posted on neighbourhood forum Nextdoor on Tuesday, September 22.

He wrote: "My daughter was walking her dog and the man was blatantly standing in the Ham Lands field behind Thames Young Mariners completely naked.

"It might be deviant behaviour or he may have mental health issues, I understand this, but we need to protect our children."

Last month a mum from Ham made a similar report. She wrote: "Me and my two daughters went to Ham fields to pick some blackberries and apples.

"As we were going to leave - near the playing fields near Ham House, a naked man started following us on a bicycle.

"He is in his 60s with long white hair. He stopped once we reached the fields and were in the open. Both my oldest daughter and I were very scared.

"Please be mindful if going in the same place by yourself."

Both posts received dozens of replies, with numerous people expressing their concern.

Police statement

We asked the police about the latest incident and a spokesperson said officers were sent to the scene, but the man was not there.

"On September 22 at 1.10pm police were called to reports of a man seen naked in King Georges Field, Ham," the spokesperson said.

"Officer attended soon after and conducted a search of the area. No naked male was located.

"At this time there is no further investigation ongoing."
