Have your say on Kew's new parking rules

This is a chance for Kew residents to have their say about potential new parking measures in their neighbourhood.
Residents in streets including Gloucester Road and Kew Green have petitioned Richmond Council and detailed their troubles finding a parking space near their home.
Additional pressure is expected to be placed on parking spaces when the new Brentford Football Club stadium and flats development over Kew Bridge is completed.
Events at Kew Gardens and the recent suspension of all parking spaces along the west side of Kew Road to support the northbound cycle lane will add to demand for spaces.
The council said it does not usually express a view during consultations about how parking controls should operate.
But considering the above "exceptional circumstances", it has proposed:
- That parking controls be implemented across the whole of the North Kew area to provide priority parking for residents, businesses and visitors, every day, for a minimum duration of 10am to 4.30pm. Details of the consultation and how to complete the online survey can be found on the Richmond Council website here.
- That the operational hours of KA and KB Controlled Parking Zones (CPZs), currently operating Monday to Friday 10am to noon, should be extended every day for a minimum duration of 4 hours a day. Details of the consultation and how to complete the online survey for KA can be found here and for KB here.
- The council is also conducting a separate consultation on the Niton Road / Chilton Road area to see if there is support to extend parking controls (Zone KB) after some residents in the area requested parking controls. Details of the consultation and how to complete the online survey can be found here.
"All feedback on the consultations will be considered very carefully before a decision is made on the way forward," the council said.
"If you would like a paper copy of the questionnaire, please contact 020 8891 1411 and this will be posted out to you along with a pre-paid envelope for your response.
"Closing date for online or paper consultation responses and/or e-mails is Wednesday, August 26."
