Job of the Week: amazing Kickstart vacancy at Richmond theatre

An exciting vacancy has opened up in a theatre in Richmond.

The Orange Tree Theatre is hiring a Literary Assistant.

The vacancy is available for anyone aged 18-24 and in receipt of Universal Credit.

The job: The Literary Assistant will gain experience across the Literary department, assisting with the team's goals of seeking new plays and revivals for programming and supporting emerging artists through OT New Artists. For the right candidate, this may also involve training in how to read and report on new plays, spotting and supporting new playwriting and directing talent.

Application deadline: 10am on Monday 3 May 2021

Interviews: Friday 7 May 2021

Start date: 17 May 2021

The position is funded by the government's Government's Kickstart Scheme and Creative Access, a social enterprise supporting people from under-represented backgrounds into creative careers.

The Kickstart Scheme is a government initiative that aims to give opportunities to 16-24 year olds on Universal Credit by providing funding to employers to create job placements.

The theatre is due to open up again next month after a long lockdown break.
