Richmond Council has revealed that the outdoor pool at Pools on the Park will be closed for upcoming maintenance work.

The one day closure on Thursday, 17 September would make way for the installation of a new pool cover system at the Old Deer Park pool.

The Council said the new cover will help to reduce ongoing maintenance and improve energy efficiency.

The main pool and teaching pool will remain open as normal throughout the day, and all indoor activities and sessions will continue as scheduled.

This comes as the pool covers for the two indoor pools were completed last week and earlier this year, a brand-new multi-purpose studio was opened and the toilets in the café area were refurbished.

Further proposed improvements include refurbishment of the gym area and changing rooms, improvements to swimming pool area and sauna and steam provision.

The Council said: "We apologise for any inconvenience this temporary closure may cause and thank residents for their understanding while these improvements are carried out."
