The Just a Tribute Festival due to be held at The Stoop tomorrow - Saturday - has been cancelled at the last minute due to what organisers call 'external sources'.

The Festival promised some of the best Tribute bands in the world who would offering authentic recreations of performances from the likes Nirvana, Bon Jovi, and the Foo Fighters.

It has been suggested that around 800 people had bought tickets, which cost £50 per head.

The event would have clashed with a Depeche Mode concert, which is being held a few hundred metres away across the A316 at Twickenham Stadium.

The event was cancelled with a statement from organisers stating: "We regretfully have to announce Just A Tribute 23 is cancelled.

"At the 11th hour, we have been forced to cancel the event due to external sources.

"Over the last few days we have suffered several issues which our team have been working tirelessly to resolve, however the final decision was taken out of our hands and we were left with no choice.

"We are absolutely gutted to do this, particularly when it seemed as if all problems could've been resolved."

The processing of refunds has already begun, however the cancellation generated a lot of disappointment on social media.

One wrote: "Would've preferred to be enjoying myself with the family on Saturday in Twickenham, we were so hyped and looking forward to it. Feeling a bit deflated, no doubt you are gutted. Hope you come back stronger next year."

Others said they were 'gutted' and 'absolutely devastated', while others asked for a proper explanation for the last-minute cancellation.
