The top of Richmond Hill will reopen to traffic this week after a short closure for water works.

Motorists heading up Hill Rise as it becomes Richmond Hill have to turn left at Fryers Stile Road.

This is because Richmond Hill is closed near the Roebuck pub.

The diversion that is in place affects drivers wishing to get to Queen's Road or towards Richmond Park.

A spokesperson for Richmond Council told Richmond Nub News that the road will be open again by the middle of this week.

The spokesperson said: "The road is closed for emergency Thames Water utility works.

"The work is estimated to be completed by Wednesday, August 5.
