House fire – woman and two children taken to hospital

A woman and two children were taken to hospital suffering from the effects of smoke inhalation as the result of a house fire in East Twickenham on Sunday.

A woman and two children were taken to hospital suffering from the effects of smoke inhalation as the result of a house fire in East Twickenham on Sunday evening.

Half of the ground floor and part of the first floor were destroyed by the fire at a property in Morley Road.

London Fire Brigade said: "Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a fire at a house on Morley Road in Twickenham on Sunday evening.

"Half of the ground floor and part of the first floor was destroyed by fire.

"One woman and two children left the property before the Brigade arrived. They were suffering with smoke inhalation and taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service.

"The Brigade was called at 2003 and the incident was over by 2102. Fire crews from Richmond, Twickenham and Heston fire stations were in attendance.

"The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brigade's fire investigators and the Met police."

Two cats belonging to the family – Lunar and Tinkerbell - have gone missing following the fire. Both are understood to be tabby cats and one has a white tummy.
