Holland & Barrett is mounting a major investment in the Richmond borough to target health conscious shoppers.

The health and supplements chain Holland & Barrett is moving to larger premises in the centre of Twickenham.

It is also taking over an old Costa coffee outlet in East Sheen, where renovations are currently under way.

The company is currently fitting out what was previously the Johnsons Shoes shop at the junction of King Street, Twickenham, which put up the shutters at the end of last year.

The move by the wellness chain is a vote of confidence in Twickenham town centre, where Pret a Manger opened a new outlet recently and also saw the arrival of King Street Vets.

However, the area remains under pressure following the loss of several banks, while there has been a proliferation of coffee shops.

Holland & Barrett told Nub News: "We're delighted to confirm Holland & Barrett in Twickenham will be moving to a new, bigger location on King Street. Our new store will be double the size of our current location, meaning we'll be able to offer even more wellness products and advice to our customers in the local area."
