Sunday morning offers a chance to help clean up the Thames and, perhaps, mix with some of the more unusual creatures that frequent the river, including mitten crabs from China.
A Thames Foreshaw litter pick will be taking place to coincide with the annual Port of London Draw-Off.
Among the plastic bags, discarded cups and other waste, there is every chance you could come across some interesting aquatic life in the muddy pools, as revealed by Nub News.
Every year, the weirs at Richmond are opened for a period to allow for maintenance, which means the river ebbs and flows naturally with the tide.
As the tide flows out, so the water level recedes exposing a large area of the foreshore, including waste and litter.
As part of Richmond Climate Week, you can join Habitats & Heritage at Whittaker Avenue at 10am to take part in the litter pick. Wellington boots and gloves are recommended.
An alternative option for those looking for a hands-on way of helping to improve the local environment will take place on the Ham Lands.
Participants can join the Friends of Ham Lands for a walk around the local nature reserve, or they lend a hand with practical volunteering. The event begins at 10.30am and people are asked to meet at the junction of Croft Way and Riverside Drive.
Among the other events on Sunday, expert climate campaigners Jonathon Porritt and Dr Alice Bell discuss with Guppi Bola what we can do to confront the climate crisis.
The discussion, which is part of the Richmond Literature Festival, takes place at the Landmark Arts Centre, Ferry Road, Teddington, takes place from 10.30am-11.45am.
Also on Sunday, Richmond Council and Habitats & Heritage will be hosting a panel event on the topic of 'net zero' at The Exchange, in Twickenham.
Taking place from 3pm-5pm, it will feature experts on a range of climate related fields ranging from the economic impacts and sustainable consumerism to nature-based solutions to climate change.
Details of all the events can be found here.
