Richmond's edition of Monopoly could be the greenest one yet, the producers of the new board game said.

Winning Moves is making a Richmond upon Thames version which will hit shops and be available to buy online in October.

Producers said thousands of suggestions poured in from residents on what landmarks and groups they wanted to see featured.

After more than 3,000 votes, Richmond Park, Kew Palace and Hampton Court Palace (brown squares) are among the favourites to land places on the board.

The four train stations may have either a general travel theme – or be replaced with local parks. The new game will see:

  • sets and cards themed to Richmond upon Thames landmarks, heritage, shopping, education, entertainment and more
  • customised Chance and Community Chest cards
  • 30+ Richmond landmarks featured
  • 5 borough charities 'Passing GO'

Polls have now closed.

George Shrimpton of Winning Moves said: "Richmond upon Thames is widely recognised and universally hailed as one the 'greenest' places anywhere in the UK.

"For the official Monopoly: Richmond upon Thames edition game the four train stations are being considered to change to either an overall 'travel' theme – or a park theme."

He added: "A huge thank you to everyone who sent in suggestions and nominations.

"We shall be going through each and every suggestion very carefully after the Easter holidays."
