It's the last day of trading for many cafes and pubs across Richmond.

The town and wider London are being put into Tier 3 restrictions at a minute past midnight tonight.

As Richmond Council said the hospitality industry will feel the "biggest impact" as they may only offer a takeaway or delivery service under Tier 3.

The Turk's Head in St Margarets plans to give away its "healthy, amazing" Christmas tree and encouraged anyone who can give it a good home to get in touch.

Manager Ollie Coulombeau said: "Sad news for all of us. We will be closing tonight at last orders due to current government restrictions. Thank you to everyone for your love and support. We will be open again soon.

"However we need your help - we don't want to see this beauty go to waste. It's a real, healthy Xmas tree that looks amazing. We'd love to give this to a good home.

"If you know someone/are someone who this tree could make a difference to your Xmas and you can collect please drop us a line.

"We'd prefer to get the decorations back - but are happy to loan and leave them on and arrange collection later if it makes a difference.

"Can't wait to see some of you and hope all of you have a magical Xmas."
