A terrier cross who went missing after a frightening collision with a car in Petersham has been found.

Frightened Poppy, who is part Jack Russell, ran off at around 8.30pm last night after an accident close to the Fox & Duck pub.

It emerged late this afternoon that she had been found and was on her way to the vet.

Last night, the owner wrote on social media that a few people saw the accident and tried to help Poppy, but the frightened dog ran off.

She added: "She is wary of people she doesn't know and will run away if approached."

Subsequently, many people in the area joined the hunt and, this evening, a friend of the family posted: "Poppy has been finally found and is on way to the vet. Thanks for everyone's help and support."
