Motorists travelling through Mortlake are being warned to expect delays after Richmond Council announced emergency roadworks on Mortlake High Street.

According to an Emergency Roadworks Bulletin issued by the council on 30 June, two-way temporary traffic signals are currently in place outside 107 Mortlake High Street while urgent repairs are carried out to underground electric cables.

The emergency works are being undertaken by UK Power Networks (UKPN).

Richmond Council has said the temporary traffic management system is expected to remain in place until 8 July, although this could change depending on the progress of the repairs.

Drivers are being advised to allow extra time for journeys while the works are ongoing, with delays expected in the surrounding area during busy periods.

Residents or road users seeking further information about the works can contact UK Power Networks on 0800 028 0709.
