Emergency services raced to a busy road near the Thames this morning after two cyclists were involved in a collision with each other.

The two male cyclists both suffered head injuries in the incident, which occurred at around 7.30am.

Police from Richmond taped off the area, which was on the Petersham Road close to the junction with the towpath - just a few metres from the Richmond Canoe Club.

The two men were taken to St Mary's Hospital, Paddington.

A police spokesman said: "'On April 11, 2023, at 07.35hrs, police were called to an incident on Petersham Road, Richmond, where two cyclists have been involved in a collision.

"Both males have suffered head injuries.'

"No arrests have been made."

London Ambulance Service (LAS) said: ""We were called at 7.25am today (11 April) to reports of a collision between two cyclists on Petersham Road, Richmond.

"We sent two ambulance crews to the scene and treated two patients before taking them to hospital."

The two men were taken to St Mary's Hospital, Paddington.
