Controlled parking between 8am-6:30pm is to be introduced to Station Road in Barnes from Monday 16 October, Richmond Council has announced.

During the controlled hours, those who wish to park must either pay by phone via RingGo or display a valid CPZ B1 parking permit.

Richmond Council said in a press statement: "We are introducing changes to parking restrictions in Station Road, Barnes to improve accessibility to Barnes Station."

A drop-off area allowing parking up to 30 minutes will be located close to the Barnes Station entrance and new extended lengths of double yellow lines will be introduced to create passing areas which will improve traffic accessibility.

The measures will be introduced under an 18-month experimental traffic management order.

During this period the council will monitor the effectiveness of the measures and feedback received from the community which will determine whether the scheme is made permanent or modified.
