Community BlueScapes has received two pots of funding from the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs to support local projects focused on reducing flood risk and increasing the ability of local people and the area to adapt to climate change.
The Community BlueScapes Fund aims to support local projects and initiatives, run by local residents, community groups and businesses, that benefit the community or project area (Beverley Brook Catchment area from Richmond Park to north Barnes) in adapting to extreme weather such as flooding, through £1,000 or £5,000 grants.
The Ideas Fund has been set up to help bring ideas to life.
Through the Ideas Fund, local people and organisations can suggest projects to reduce flood risk and increase the ability of local people and the area to adapt to climate change.
The Community Bluescapes team will shortlist proposed projects and local people will be able to vote for the ones they would like to see.
Applications for the Community BlueScapes Fund will close on 26 January 2024 and applications for the Ideas Fund will close on 15 February 2024.
Full details about both funds and application guidance, including eligibility details and project ideas, can be found on the Community BlueScapes pages.
The team is also hosting drop-in sessions across the project area from now until 24 January to discuss the funds with those who are interested in applying and offer application guidance. View the full schedule of sessions.
