Christ's School in Richmond has received a new ULEZ compliant school minibus this week thanks to a 'generous' donation from a family within the school community.
As a result of the 'incredibly generous' donation Christ's School took delivery of a new 17-seater Citroen Flexlite minibus.
The minibus is ULEZ compliant which helps the school to improve its eco-credentials whilst keeping running costs down.
The school, which is ranked within the top 2% for sport in the country, has many young sports people who will benefit from traveling to venues and fixtures across the country in the new minibus it says.
It will also enable students to participate in many more academic and extra-curricular opportunities in support of their learning.
Commenting on the new minibus, Mrs Helen Dixon, Headteacher at Christ's School said: "It is no secret that schools are facing huge funding challenges currently, so we appreciate that we are extremely lucky to have a wonderful, supportive community at Christ's School.
"We are extremely grateful for this generous donation from one of our families which ensures that our fantastic extra-curricular programme can continue to flourish.
"Throughout the year we are also supported by the efforts of our wonderful Parent Staff Association, parents, staff and students at Christ's School who raise funds to support a wide range of activities and initiatives for the benefit of our students."

The Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) is a measure implemented by some cities to improve air quality by discouraging high-polluting vehicles from entering certain areas.
Vehicles entering the ULEZ zone must meet strict emission standards or pay a daily charge to help incentivise the use of cleaner transport options.
