Richmond's waste and recycling collections will change over the festive period.

There will also be changes to garden waste collections, and Richmond Council will be offering Christmas tree collections.

The revised collection schedule will be running from Wednesday 25 December 2024 to Saturday 4 January 2025.

Collections for Christmas day will instead take place on Friday 27 December.

Boxing Day collections will instead take place on Saturday 28 December

Friday 27 December's collection has been changed to Sunday 29 December.

There is no change to collections on Monday 30 December. or Tuesday 31 December.

New Year's Day collections will now take place on Thursday 2 January.

Collections for 2 January will now take place on Friday 3 January and collections for Friday 3 January will take place on Saturday 4 January.

Bulky waste collections will be suspended between Monday 23 December 2024 and Friday 3 January 2025.

Garden waste collections will be suspended from Monday 6 to Friday 17 January 2025. Collections will resume on Monday 20 January.

To support food waste recycling during the holidays, residents who receive this service can pick up a free roll of compostable caddy liners from their local library or the Civic Centre in Twickenham.

Richmond Council is offering both a drop off and collection service for real Christmas trees. Find out more about Christmas tree recycling.

The Christmas tree collection service was enhanced in 2024 to include the ability for residents to report an abandoned tree or fly tipped tree.

It included GIS to pinpoint the tree's location and the ability to upload a photograph. This worked well and will be repeated in January 2025.
