CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale) members have revealed its Richmond & Hounslow Branch Pub of the Year.

From a shortlist of pubs in the region, CAMRA has chosen The Mitre on St Mary's Grove as its best for 2026.

After members picked their favourites in the area, a list of three pubs were put together - The Blackdog, Brentford, Builders Arms, Teddington and The Mitre, Richmond.

From a checklist of eight categories, some of which include quality of real ale, knowledge, service and atmosphere, judges in discreet visits score pubs out of 10 in each category.

According to CAMRA, The Mitre was built by Young's in 1865 on leased land.

The freehold was later bought in 1989 from the local church charity trust and is now a Free house.

The pub features a decked area out front and garden area to the rear of the establishment.

CAMRA said on its website: "The bar now sports 14 hand-pumps serving beers on constant rotation all from small independent brewers outside the M25...

"Authentic Neapolitan style Pizzas available to eat in or take away Wednesday to Sunday."

Owner of The Mitre, Chris French, told Nub News: "We're absolutely thrilled that CAMRA has recognised ten long years of hard work by awarding us Pub of the Year for 2026.

"From day one, we set out to create a place built on great beer, great music, great conversations and that feeling of being welcomed into our front room. To know we've achieved that means its a job well done."

CAMRA members have yet to decide the London Pub of the Year 2026.

From the 12 branches in the Greater London Area, each one will battle for the honour of the best in the capital.

7. North London: Wenlock Arms, 26 Wenlock Road, Hoxton, London, N1 7TA
8. Richmond & Hounslow: Mitre, 20 St Mary's Grove, Richmond, TW9 1UY
9. South East London: Hand & Marigold, 44 Bermondsey Street, Bermondsey, London, SE1 3UH
10. South West London: Trafalgar, 23 High Path, Merton, SW19 2JY
11. West London: The Bear, 27 Spring Street, Paddington, W2 1JA
12. West Middlesex: Owl & Pussycat, 106 Northfield Avenue, Northfields, W13 9RT
