Cakes, cream teas and £4 pasta return to Kew Green as popular Sunday fundraiser relaunches
By Cesar Medina 1st May 2026
Homemade cakes, cream teas, Pimm's and £4 pasta dishes are returning to Kew Green as St Anne's Church relaunches its popular Sunday Teas fundraiser.
The weekly event will run every Sunday from 2.30pm to 5pm from 3 May at St Anne's Church Hall, just moments from Kew Gardens.
Visitors can enjoy homemade cakes and scones, local jam, tea, coffee and Pimm's, alongside a seasonal pasta dish priced at £4.
This year's menu has been boosted by former restaurateur Richard Crampton-Platt, who previously ran Café Britaly.
He is returning to cooking a year after closing his restaurant and will prepare a changing weekly pasta special.
The first dish will be rigatoni with asparagus, courgette and pea, inspired by a Florentine recipe with mint and parsley.
Crampton-Platt said: "A year on from closing my restaurant, it feels incredibly special to be cooking for people again.
"Not as my own food business this time, but as a way of giving something back to local people who have done so much to support me."
The fundraiser supports the pastoral and community work of St Anne's Church.
Giles Fraser commented: "Sunday Teas have always been about hospitality, community, and welcome.
"It is wonderful to see the churchyard full of people on a Sunday afternoon, with cake, cricket, and conversation on Kew Green."
The event also coincides with cricket on the Green and live music concerts beginning later in May.
