West London pizza chain Base Face Pizza has applied for a premises licence in Richmond.

"Dedicated to the perfection of the perfect pizza," the pizzeria first opened in Hammersmith in 2021, followed by branches in Barnes and Putney.

The business is now seeking to operate from 12pm to 11pm daily and to serve alcohol from 12pm to 10:30pm at the site of the former Atlas Organic on Kew Road.

Speaking to Richmond Nub News, founder Tim Thornton said that having grown up in nearby Chiswick and with a best friend who lived on Kew Road, he felt a connection to the area and wanted to offer residents a place to enjoy "great food."

Thornton said: "All my pizzerias have the words Neighbourhood Pizzeria, Local Ingredients, Slow Dough on the windows, and these three things embody what I'm trying to achieve.

"A place for the people who live there to come and spend time with friends, family and loved ones. Where possible, we source our ingredients from local suppliers and producers, supporting the network of small businesses in the area, whilst promoting the best we have to offer in this country!

"Our dough is a special recipe, which is slow fermented over a minimum of 48 hours to produce a highly flavourful and digestible dough, which won't leave you feeling heavy and bloated.

"My menu features a mix of classic pizzas and some of my own creations like the Cheeky Pineapple, a grown up version of a pineapple pizza with pepperoni from Cobble Lane over in Islington, fresh jalapenos and our house made pineapple jam on a base of tomato and mozzarella, this one won best dish in Putney last year!

"All our pizzas will be available in individual 12 inch size or giant 18 inch sharing size.

"I look forward to welcoming the people of Richmond and Kew to our unique and friendly pizzeria."

Closing dates for representations is on Wednesday, 21 May 2025
