Air ambulance to the rescue

An air ambulance helicopter was called in to help carry a casualty to hospital after a serious collision on the Lower Richmond Road this morning.

An air ambulance helicopter was called in to help carry a casualty to hospital after a serious collision on the Lower Richmond Road this morning.

The accident happened close to the Sainsbury's store this morning and is thought to have involved a motorcycle.

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called at 9:44am today (10 March) to reports of a road traffic collision on Lower Richmond Road.

"We sent an ambulance crew, a medic in a fast response car and an incident response officer, and we also dispatched medics from London's Air Ambulance.

"We treated a man and took him to a major trauma centre as a priority."
