Members of the public can get a free £50 voucher for bicycle repairs.

Registrations for the government's Fix your Bike Voucher Scheme go live shortly before midnight tonight (Tuesday, July 28).

Anyone who wants a voucher worth up to £50 towards the cost of repairing a bicycle can log on and apply from 11.45pm.

Terms and conditions

The scheme is open to anyone in England who has an unused bicycle in need of a repair.

There are a limited number of vouchers available and people have been asked to consider the needs of others before applying. Why not try Bernard and David's Bike Repairs, two friends from Richmond instead?

Up to two vouchers can be claimed per household and they can only be used with bike repairers or mechanics that are registered for the scheme in England.

A full list of terms and conditions and eligibility criteria is provided when you register.

You will be able to apply for a voucher from 11.45pm online here.

Cycling is allowed again at all times in Richmond Park as the Royal Parks charity announced it was lifting restrictions.

The Prime Minister today announced a £2 billion "cycling and walking revolution".

The money will pay for a raft of measures including thousands of new cycle lanes across the country, cycle training for children and adults, increased access to e-bikes, a police crackdown on bike theft and more areas to lock your bike in town.

Richmond Nub News has asked the council how this will benefit Richmond.
