Rose Opera to bring Puccini classic to Teddington's Normansfield Theatre
By Nub News Reporter 19th May 2026
Opera lovers in Richmond borough can look forward to a new production of one of Giacomo Puccini's most celebrated works as Rose Opera returns to Teddington this summer.
Five performances of Manon Lescaut will be staged at Normansfield Theatre between 30 May and 7 June.
Described as the opera in which Puccini truly found his voice, Manon Lescaut combines romance, comedy and heartbreak with what many consider some of the composer's most powerful music.
The work is seen as an important milestone in Puccini's career, arriving before later classics such as La Bohème, Tosca and Madama Butterfly.
Rose Opera's latest production follows the company's recent performances of Tosca and Cavalleria Rusticana/Pagliacci and will feature a full orchestra and chorus.
The new staging is being led by stage director Callie Nestleroth, with designs by Fred Broom and musical direction from Lewis Gaston.
Rose Opera has developed a reputation for bringing ambitious productions to intimate venues, with organisers describing Manon Lescaut as one of its most exciting projects to date.
Tickets for the five-performance run are available through Rose Opera website here.
