Residents at Barchester's Lynde House care home, near Richmond Bridge, were delighted to receive the first round of the coronavirus vaccine in their care home along with a number of staff last week.

Dr Flynn, from Hampton Wick Surgery who led the vaccinations in Lynde House, had already administered the vaccine to staff who visited the surgery before Christmas.

General manager Alison McIntosh said: "We've had a year like no other and the vaccine feels like the light at the end of the tunnel.

"Dr Flynn visits the home every week to see residents so they know him well, they felt comfortable and reassured at all times so we are so grateful for his support."

The second round of vaccination will be administered at a later date.

John, a resident, said: "I am so pleased to be given the vaccine. It will help to keep us safe".

We are welcoming new residents at Lynde House to ensure that we are there for those that need care and support, and have very clear protocols that must be met including a transition period into our home to help keep everyone safe.
