The latest Richmond visitor map has just been launched and is available to pick up at Richmond's Visitor Information Kiosk just in time for so-called 'freedom day' on Monday 19.

Free copies of the new Richmond map are available at the kiosk inside Richmond Train Station, managed by Visit Richmond and run by friendly volunteers there to welcome people as they arrive.

The map gives newcomers to the area an idea of what to do and see on their visit, pointing out activities and restaurants, and indicating how to get to popular locations like Richmond Park and Hampton Court Palace.

Nub News picked up a copy from the kiosk and spoke to local volunteer and retired teacher Lee Pascal, who has lived in Richmond on and off for 54 years!

Lee said that he is most regularly asked for directions to Richmond Park, the river, and Kew Gardens.

He said: "All of the volunteers are local residents with a good knowledge of the local area.

"We provide maps and brochures of Richmond and we keep up to date with businesses that are opening; we consider it as a function of ours to support local businesses."

The map is produced every year by Con O'Brien of Connect Business Solutions, and also promotes the local shops and businesses.

This year's map includes new additions to Richmond including Oli and Ben and The Source Bulk Foods zero waste shop.
