Are you feeling lucky?
An exciting and new online community lottery called Get Lucky Local is to launch across Richmond where players can choose their own causes to support.
The aim of the new lottery is to support and help fund local charities, sports and cultural groups and other worthwhile projects based in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. Many have been hard hit by Covid-19.
50p from every ticket of Get Lucky Local will go direct to charities, voluntary groups and other good causes which sign up to the new lottery.
Players of the weekly game can win a £25,000 jackpot, with smaller cash prizes of £2,000, £250 and £25 also available as well as non-cash prizes.
There are two key features to Get Lucky Local: firstly, good causes will be able to have their very own customised, specially-created page highlighting their specific good cause alongside its purpose and aims and its own logo.
Secondly, and most importantly, 50p of every £1 spent by players supporting a particular cause will be retained by that cause.
A further 10p in every pound will go into a Get Lucky Local general good cause fund with the remainder being put towards prizes, operating costs and VAT.
The lottery will be formally launched on September 10 when good cause groups will be able to sign up and tickets will go on sale for the first time on October 6 with the first draw on November 14.
More details will be announced closer to launch.
