Senior AI Software Engineer

This is an opportunity for a highly experienced engineer to play a key role in shaping the future of software delivery within a large-scale, enterprise environment. You will combine deep software engineering expertise with practical AI experience, helping drive faster, safer, and more intelligent development processes across a complex technology estate.

The Role

As a Principal AI Software Engineer, you'll work closely with product, engineering, and leadership teams to design and evolve AI-enabled development capabilities. You'll have ownership of technical architecture decisions, help implement AI-driven engineering workflows, and ensure high standards of quality, reliability, and governance are maintained.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys building, solving complex technical problems, and driving engineering excellence at scale.

What You'll Be Doing

• Leading the design and implementation of AI-enabled software engineering solutions.
• Defining technical architecture and engineering standards across multiple teams.
• Supporting the adoption of AI-assisted development practices and tooling.
• Reviewing, governing, and improving AI-generated code and outputs.
• Building scalable, resilient systems used by large numbers of users.
• Driving best practices across testing, observability, CI/CD, deployment, and platform reliability.
• Partnering with product leaders and engineers to solve complex business and technical challenges.
• Helping accelerate the organisation's journey toward more frequent, automated, and reliable software releases.

What We're Looking For

• Extensive experience in software engineering within complex, enterprise-scale environments.
• Strong hands-on coding ability and a passion for technical problem-solving.
• Practical experience applying AI technologies within software development and engineering workflows.
• Ability to design technical architectures and make sound engineering decisions.
• Experience working across multiple programming languages and technology stacks.
• Strong understanding of modern engineering practices including CI/CD, automated testing, observability, and cloud platforms.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• A collaborative approach and experience working within cross-functional teams.
