Shops that have closed during the pandemic could be converted to public toilets amid a shortage of places to spend a penny.

The closure of the House of Fraser department store in Richmond and other retailers, restaurants and bars has created a shortage of 'welfare facilities' to use the loo or change a baby's nappy.

Hundreds of people have complained about dry skin they think may be linked to tap water supplied by Thames Water from the Hampton Waterworks.

Householders are complaining that their water is affecting their skin and hair, and that it has a strong chlorine smell and taste.

There are no restrictions on coming in or out of the borough of Hounslow, the council's health chief has said following a meeting with the government.

It follows new guidelines that appeared on the government website on Friday that advised people not to leave or enter several Covid Indian variant hotspots, including Hounslow.

Fans of Richmond's many parkrun events will be disappointed to hear that their return has been delayed along with events across England due to a lack of support from landowners.

More than 250 events in England obtained landowner permission to return, however this fell far short of the number needed for it to return on June 5 as hoped.

Richmond Council has urged residents to 'take extra caution' if visiting the neighbouring London borough where surge testing for the Indian Covid-19 variant is now taking place.

The Council also asked people in Richmond borough to follow Government advice and not travel to Hounslow unless making an essential journey.

Tonight the third in a beautifully-shot four-part documentary series on Kew Gardens will be aired on Channel 5.

The documentary, Kew Gardens: A Year in Bloom, was filmed at Kew Gardens and Wakehurst, Kew's wild botanic garden in Sussex during lockdown in 2020.
