There has been a collision just outside Richmond Park.

Royal Parks, the charity which manages it, said: "Please note that Kingston Gate has been closed due to a car accident outside the gates creating heavy traffic congestion.

"The disabled toilets in Isabella Plantation have also been closed due to a separate incident.

"Thank you for your understanding."

Richmond Park was already at capacity earlier this afternoon (Sunday, April 4).

"We hope that everyone is enjoying this beautiful sunny weather, however please be advised that Richmond and Bushy Park are at full capacity. Please take this into consideration when planning your afternoon," the charity said.

The AA traffic alert service said: "Road closed and queueing traffic due to accident on A308 Kingston Hill both ways from the roundabout by the Shell petrol station to B351 Queens Road.

"Detour in operation - affecting bus routes 57, 85, 213.

"The road is shut near the hospital."
