Event of the Week: lace up for Richmond Park's June 5k, 10k or Half Marathon

24th Jun 2021 | Local Sport

Since indoor venues have been allowed to reopen their doors we have seen a host of events going on throughout Richmond and across the country.

Of course, yet again some events have been postponed and cancelled due to the government's announcement on Monday that it will further delay the easing of lockdown.

But you can still find all sorts of Covid-safe events going on, from concerts to cooking classes to sporting events, on our newly revamped What's On section.

Our top pick for this week is one for the runners among you: the Richmond Park June 5k, 10k and Half Marathon event on Saturday.

Choose your distance and grab your shoes for a scenic trail in much more pleasant temperatures (for running) than we've been seeing the last few weeks!

The course is a mix of trail and paths, and trail shoes are recommended.

The 5k is one lap, the 10k is two and the half marathon is 4 laps.

The half marathon will start at 9am and the 5k and 10k runs will start at 10am.

The course has also a gradual incline for the first 2km.

Off-road buggies are ok however some sections are on grass/trail.
