A warning has been issued to cash machine users after thieves stole a bank card and emptied the accounts of an elderly woman in Kew.

The theft were associated with an ATM at the Tesco store in Station Parade and it appears a device, including a camera, may have been attached to the machine .

The woman's daughter reported the incident via Nextdoor, saying: "Please all be aware. My mum got cash out from the ATM in Kew yesterday. Her card didn't come out but the cash did.

"She cancelled her card as soon as she got home. Checked her account this morning and both her accounts have been emptied.

"She cancelled her card 10 minutes later but yet there were transactions made later on."

Other contributors said cash machines at other Tesco stores in the area, including East Sheen and St Margarets, have been targeted in the past.

It is important to report such card machine thefts immediately to ensure the cards are blocked and guarantee that any losses are refunded.
