Job Title: Systems Engineer - Trials &Integration

Salary: Up to £47,500 depending on skills andexperience
What you'll be doing: - Performing a variety ofsystems engineering activities as part of the Combat SystemsStrategic Projects team such as trials and integration by usingagile practices
- Supporting internal andcustomer facing trials and experiments, by deploying, configuring,integrating, and testing Combat Systems software and its associatedvirtual machines/architectures and softwarecontainers
Assisting in defining the requirements, high leveldesign, statements-of-work, cost estimates and other documentationas required for the successful delivery of trials to meet customerand business goals - Deploying andconfiguring systems and architectures to conduct integrationtesting of systems in preparation for trials and experiments,including producing documentation to assist with designcertification
Providing knowledge and support to customer trialsand experiments, collaborating with Subject Matter Experts acrossthe business to resolve anyissues Running trials and experiments representing thebusiness in customer forums, potentially supporting the occasionalinternational trials asrequired
Your skills andexperiences: Essential:
- A technical background in Systems and / or Softwareengineering
Ability to take concepts and specifyrequirements/design - Experience in running trials and experiments incustomer forums
- Methodical and analytical mindset required toresolve issues
Desirable:
- Experience of Combat Management Systems in NavalDomain
An understanding of system configuration includingIT networking, server/console configuration, message protocols andvirtualisation
Engineers at all levels should possess an academicqualification in Engineering or other related STEM subjects as wellas specific (either academic or professional) qualifications andbecome recognised as Incorporated or Chartered Engineers through anappropriate recognised professional institution. Engineers areencouraged, and will be supported, to achieve the relevantaccreditation. Preference will be given to candidates who arealready professionallyregistered.

The Combat SystemsStrategic Projects team: This is a growing team in which you will workalongside Software Engineers, and report into the Head ofEngineering Delivery - Strategic Projects. You will play a key partin integrating software applications through innovative ideas anddemonstrating these to the customers through trials. With learningsupport from Senior and Principal Systems Engineers this is afantastic opportunity for you to gain exposure and develop yourunderstanding further. The projects you will work on in this roleare unique and exciting, giving you the chance to bring yourthoughts and ideas as we work to develop concepts and bring them tolife. We will also be there to support you in achieving Chartershipstatus to help you further yourcareer.
